I have benefited much from the continual balance between the "already" and the "not yet" of the gospel that is modeled by writers like Keller and Pippert. It keeps us from being foolishly optimistic about present sin, and it keeps us from being sinfully pessimistic about what God is actually able to accomplish in the city today by His gospel.
